For EXISTING web sites we offer professional web site transfer by our webmaster - at NO EXTRA CHARGE! We take care of everything each step of the way to ensure a seamless transfer of your site with NO interruption in service.

We provide this service at NO EXTRA CHARGE for new web hosting clients. Sign up with Rogue Valley Group and move in for free!

Here's how it works:

  1. Contact us BEFORE cancelling your existing service. We will make a backup of your entire web site including all web pages and images. (See notes below. We can't backup private files, like software, scripts and databases, without the cooperation of your existing web hosting company.)
  2. You provide us with a list of email accounts needed.
  3. We establish service on our web server and install of your web pages and images.
  4. We work with your current web hosting company to update your domain name to reflect your new web hosting.
  5. OPTIONAL - You transfer management of your domain name to Rogue Valley Group. Moving your domain name costs $16.95 and adds one year to your domain's expiration date.

Notes:

  • Domain name update requires cooperation of your existing domain name registrar (usually your web hosting company) OR you need to provide the login information for us to make changes to your domain name.
  • Usually your current web hosting company will provide an archive file of your site. This is required if your site contains "private" files or has software installed. If you have any questions about this, please let us know.
  • If your site has a MySQL database that file must be provided by your current web hosting company.
  • Check with us first if your current web hosting company wants to charge you a fee for you web site files. It's possible that we can get your files without their help and save you that money.
